Creating a clone
Are you interested in creating a clone? This is a quick process. Below is a step-by-step description of what you need to do.
Create an acccount
Go to app.clonable.net and enter your personal data. Do you already have an account? Then log in, and proceed to 'Create a site'.
Confirm your account
After creating an account you will receive a confirmation email with a link. By clicking this link you can log in again and start with creating a clone.
Create a site
In the backend of Clonable, go to 'New site'. Here you indicate which site should be cloned. Enter the URL of the original site, and indicate the language of the site. Do you already have another clone, and do you want to clone that same domain to another language, then click 'Create new clone' at the bottom of an already existing clone on the 'Dashboard'.
Create the clone
Here you can choose for a Crossborder clone (same language) or an International clone (with translation). Enter the desired domain name of the new website you want to clone, and choose the matching language/country. Verify the data and enter the billing information.
The right settings
Before the clone can go live, the DNS settings and language tags of the website must be set correctly. You can do this yourself, or you can ask us for help. An explanation on how to set the DNS data and the language tags can be found under 'Setup'.
The first adjustments
Even though the site has not gone live yet, you can already make the first changes to your cloned website. For example, changing the logo, telephone number or the shipping costs.
Finalizing
As soon as the DNS and language tags have been properly set the site can go live. After this you can use the Editor or the Substitution rules to make any changes to your website. For ideas, look at the other articles in this documentation.
